Creating and Editing Departments

To edit a department or create a new department, select a Department folder and right-click the mouse. This will display a pop-up menu. You can also select the root folder (SQL\\Smackinnon\PEDemo) and right-click the mouse to display the same pop-up menu. Select the Edit Departments menu item. The following window will appear:

To add a new Department, click the New button. This will add a new row at the bottom of the Spreadsheet. Type the description in the Department Description cell. Click the Save button to save the changes.

To edit a Department, select the cell you want to edit and type the new information. Click the Save button to save the changes.

To delete a Department, select the row to be deleted and click the Delete button. A message window will appear to ask if you really want to delete the selected Department. Select the Yes button to delete the Department. If a Department has any machines or tables associated with it, then that Department cannot be deleted.

Creating and Editing Machines

To add a new machine, click the New button. This will add a new row at the bottom of the Spreadsheet. Type the description in the Machine Description cell. Click the Save button to save the changes.

To edit a machine, select the cell you want to edit and type the new information. Click the Save button to save the changes.

To delete a machine, select the row to be deleted and click the Delete button. A message window will appear to ask if you really want to delete the selected machine. Select the Yes button to delete the machine. If a machine has any tables associated with it, then that machine cannot be deleted.
