NetPlate allows users to define and run production sequences that make a particular metal finish. No programming knowledge is required to develop, test, and run custom plating sequences. An unlimited number of sequences may be developed and stored in the system. The system supports random loading of sequences, executing any number of different production sequences at the same time, allowing the shop to run different products on the same equipment simultaneously without delays for product switch-over.

NetPlate is built around a high-speed, open source Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). The NetPlate scheduler provides the bridge between the RDBMS and the PC-based control software. The scheduler calls for movement of all products through the plating line. The database allows easy connection to existing or future data driven MRP/ERP systems. The NetPlate system supports connection by ODBC, OLEDB, or OPC and supports XML.

The Operator Interface may be viewed in any Internet Explorer 5.0+ browser connected to the plant LAN, or offsite via an Internet connection. Supervisors and Management can monitor line performance, view or print reports, and develop production sequences all while in the office, at home, or on the road.

Entivity's Steeplechase software provides the PC-based control. Easy to understand flowchart logic replaces the tedious RLL (ladder logic) programming methods used in most commercial PLCs. Because of the wide variety of plant I/O supported by Steeplechase VLC, retrofits to existing systems can often leave existing I/O and wiring in place, saving substantially on installation cost.
